VMS transit count grids 2010-2018 provide the individual transits through each cell in the approximately 1km resolution grid (scale varies by year). Any cell that had less than three individual permits has been masked. No vessel speed filter has been used for this analysis. Positions inside 3 miles (state waters) were clipped, since ports are a common crossing point for all vessels. All fisheries were combined for each year. Not all fisheries require VMS and the implementation of that requirement within each fishery varies. This by no means represents all fishing/transit activity.
